Strategic communications for non-profits and the arts

Services

Good communications isn’t a luxury, but it’s usually the first thing that gets squeezed. Yeah, you can get by for a while. But eventually it means rebrands that look like everyone else’s Canva template, campaigns that don’t resonate, and crises being handled by senior staff who need to be elsewhere or junior staff who aren’t ready for it.

A regular arrangement with me gives you the strategic leadership of a senior communications director without the full-time commitment or the salary. I can develop your strategy, guide your delivery, and where you have junior staff who need guidance, I’m experienced in mentoring and training them too. My experience in creative industries graphic design and branding means I can provide an integrated approach that looks on-point, right out of the box. Whether it’s a long term arrangement, or something to get you through an uncertain six months, the goal is always to leave you in a stronger position than when you started. Not dependent on me! Just, you know, better.

Experience

Here’s an off-the-top-of-my-head list of projects I’ve led in recent years:

Audience development, marketing and communications strategies; designing and delivering digital campaigns; content strategy; writing reports; business development plans; rebrands for small and not-so-small non-profits; new website development; graphic design and identity; designing publications; mentoring junior staff; multi-faceted writing and research projects; focus research; individual giving fundraising campaigns; public affairs campaign; audience research and segmentation; setting up and delivering content for media partnerships. I’m also fun and know lots of good jokes.

Working with me

The most cost-effective way to work with me is on a monthly retainer. I offer three packages depending on the level of involvement that’s right for you. You’d be surprised how much you can achieve with a senior pair of hands in the room. Project work is of course still available for defined briefs.

If you’re not sure what you need yet, the best place to start is a no-obligation conversation.
